When the mind feels busy and sleep does not come easily, a warm evening tea can become a simple ritual to help the body transition into rest. This gentle blend combines lily bulb, dried figs, honeysuckle and peppermint, traditionally used in Chinese Medicine to nourish, settle and pacify the Spirit (Shen). Sip it slowly before bed as part of a calming nighttime routine, allowing warmth and stillness to signal that it is time to wind down. 1 Serving Ingredients 10 g dried lily bulb (Bai He) 2-3 dried figs, halved 1 tsp dried honeysuckle (Jin Yin Hua) ½ - 1 tsp dried peppermint leaves (Bo He) 1 tsp honey, to taste 350 ml water Directions Add the dried lily bulb and figs to a small saucepan with 350 ml water. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 10 -12 minutes, until the tea becomes slightly cloudy and the figs soften. Remove from the heat. Add the honeysuckle and peppermint, then cover with a lid and steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain into a cup and add honey to taste. Eat the figs. Drink warm 30–60 minutes before bed.
